Comparative Assessment of Ethanol and Methanol–Ethanol Blends with Gasoline in SI Engine for Sustainable Development

Growing environmental concerns over global warming and depleting fossil fuel reserves are compelling researchers to investigate green fuels such as alcoholic that not only show the concrete decrement in emissions but also enhance engine performance. The current study emphasizes influence of different blends gasoline on performance for an speed ranging from 1200 4400 rpm. obtained results demonstrate brake power thermal efficiency (BTE) increased with incrementing blend percentage ethanol methanol (EM). minimum specific consumption (BSFC) was ascertained using pure followed by E2 then E5M5. NOx CO2 can be described decreasing order E, EM due same trend exhaust gas temperature (EGT). CO were reverse CO2. HC found increasing gasoline. E10 performed better among all terms less However, blended significantly reduced NOx. E5M5 produced 1.9% lower emission compared owing 1.2% EGT. Moreover, greenhouse gases CO2, which is mainly responsible reducing 1.1% case E10.
